Ram Yogendra M.D., M.P.H.
Founder and Medical Director
Dr. Yogendra is a board-certified anesthesiologist specializing in physiology and biometrics in sports and fitness. As founder and director of ECA Wellness, his interest lies in applying science and technology to understanding and balancing the mind, spirit and body. His science based approach to sports and how we train is driven by technology, data and principles of allopathic medicine.
Born in the United Kingdom and raised in Central Florida, Dr. Yogendra completed his bachelor’s degree in general biology at Rollins College, Winter Park, Florida, received his Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) at the University of South Florida, Tampa, Florida and obtained his medical degree (M.D.) at St. George’s
Chinara Tate, PhD
Registered Dietitian Nutritionist
Dr. Chinara Tate is a fully licensed registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) and Dr. of Behavioral Nutrition with specific research interest in examining: (1) the neural correlates of obesity and (2) the neuromodular effects of food. At Columbia University GSAS, her doctoral coursework was directed at examining the effects of diet quality on cognition – work that served as an extension of her graduate studies in neuroscience, nutrition, dietetics and public health. As a postdoctoral research fellow, she works concurrently on experimental design and development toward implementing randomized controlled trial protocols aimed at examining health outcomes following dietary as well as surgical intervention.
Kunal Bhatheja J.D., L.L.M.
Vice President of Operations
Kunal attended Emory University and graduated with a B.A. in Psychology from Rollins College. He has a J.D. from Western Michigan Law School and an LLM in Business Transactions from the University of Alabama School of Law. Kunal has served under several judges in Florida, a commissioner in Illinois, and has been a consultant to attorneys in Chicago on intellectual property related issues as well as other legal matters. He has several publications on sexual harassment, a topic he lectures on at universities and law schools throughout the country.
Lead Certified Personal Trainer World Champion MMA Fighter
Nate Andrews is the lead certified personal trainer at ECA Wellness who works with our medical team to create safe and personalized training and exercises. Nate is a two-time defending world champion mixed martial artist from Providence, Rhode Island and is the number one ranked lightweight fighter with an impressive fight record of 15-1 His extensive training in various martial arts such as boxing, kickboxing, Muay Thai, Brazilian jujitsu & wrestling separates him from the average trainer and coach. He helps his clients reach their fitness and health goals by incorporating the techniques and skills from his fight career.
Born and raised in Charlotte, NC, Shelby completed her undergraduate degree at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte studying Exercise Science.
During her schooling she completed her certification to become an ACSM Certified Personal Trainer and began fueling her passion of helping people right away. Upon graduating, she also became a Certified Exercise Physiologist. Shelby has been working in the Personal Training industry for 5 years now. After just a few years in the industry, she found a strong desire to expand her education of health and wellness and enrolled in the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN). In 2018, she graduated the 1-year program to become a Certified Integrative Health Coach.
Having the desire and drive to always be learning and better help individuals, Shelby is currently enrolled in the IIN Hormone Health Course and will graduate in June 2021. It is her mission as a health coach and fitness expert to educate, support and guide others in making lifelong, sustainable, healthy decisions to reach their individual goals.
